Anger Management Series

Recruits/Cadets

An 8 or 12-hour program, KEEPING THE LID ON, teaching trainees a set of behavioral skills for dealing with command personnel, citizens, diverse populations, family, and spouse.

This program focuses on those new to the profession and teaches core skills for managing Stress & Anger. Attendees learn how to use the various techniques that will enable them to determine how best to respond in a stressful situation.

In-Service Personnel

This 4 or 8 hour-program, SURVIVING THE JOB, is designed to provide veteran officers with the tools necessary to deal with the stress and anger that build up over years of public service. Evidence is presented detailing the negative effects of Stress & Anger on health. Situations from the street, work and home are used to demonstrate the use of the skills being learned.

Techniques will be discussed and explained that will provide those in attendance with a structured framework for learning the behavioral skills and interventions needed for their survival. In addition to teaching coping skills, the program also addresses the negative effects of stress, anger and hyper-vigilance on health.

Command/Management Staff

A 4 or 8-hour program, INFLUENCING THOSE YOU WORK WITH, focuses on communications. Participants learn how to work with and deal with subordinates, civilians, appointed and elected officials, and influential business leaders. This program is ideal for teaching skills and techniques needed by senior Law Enforcement and management personnel, enabling them to both understand and influence those within and outside the department.

Spouse Program

A 4 or 8-hour class, LIFESKILLS FOR LEADING A BALANCED LIFE, teaches the basic coping skills for leading a less stressful life and getting along with a spouse who has a highly stressful job. Techniques allowing those who are always on alert to wind down are central to this program. This class is recommended to the spouse and family of Law Enforcement personnel.

All of the Stress & Anger programs are reinforced and supported by a Video and E-learning course, MANAGING STRESS & ANGER. Both of these courses are available either as stand-alone programs or as reinforcement for the Managing Anger curriculum.
